Canon reveals 20 new products in Vietnam market

Ho Chi Minh City, April 23, 2009 – Canon today announced its rollout of 20 new consumer products.  Ten cameras (including nine digital compact cameras and a DSLR), nine digital video camcorders and a compact photo printer feature a new range of improvements to meet the variable demand of consumers. The launch also introduces path-breaking technologies in sync with the youth trends and lifestyle of today.

DIGITAL CAMERAS

Canon PowerShot series has been gaining popularity among users for years by delivering advanced functions, high image quality and reasonable pricing. 5 new Powershot models A480IS, A1100IS, PS D10, SX200IS, A2100IS have been updated to the series which presents a delightful array of colors and enhanced intelligent features all in a compact pocketable body.

For users looking for high quality and compactness, Canon Powershot A480IS and A1100IS are the best choices. Integrated with advanced technology and simple camera control, A1100IS brings better digital photography experience to quality-concern users looking for easy-to-use digital cameras. Inside of the slim and lightweight body is all about high-end capabilities including high quality image sensor, high quality optical zoom lens, new Face Detect AiAF and 1cm Super Macro shooting. The PowerShot A480 proves a modest budget is no obstacle in the quest for high quality photos. This simple power-packed package checks all the essential boxes of high-end technology - The DIGIC III imaging processor ensures superior image quality and intelligent functionality, a 10.0-megapixel CCD captures users’ moments to the dot, 3.3x optical zoom and the 1cm Super Macro capability gets them up close and personal. Besides Powershot, Canon IXUS line-up which has long been recognized as the trend-model of stylishness and hi-tech also unveiled four main new products: 95IS, 990IS, 100IS and 110IS.  Among these four, the IXUS 95IS and IXUS 100IS could thrill the most picky customers with smart features and new color variants. Coupled with it previously prominent technologies namely the latest imaging processor DIGIC 4, Face Detection Technology, or Motion Detection Technology, the two boasts the new technology innovations that best fit the young’s needs such as a new Smart Auto shooting mode with scene detection technology, the integration of face detect AF and AiAF, the new Brink Detection. While IXUS 95 IS stands out with 6 stylish color choices that could well-satisfy the youths, IXUS 100 IS is the slimmest IXUS ever and is capable of recording HD movies.

Canon also announces the launch of the EOS 500D entry-level DSLR, and SPEEDLITE 270EX automatic flash. The EOS 500D features a 15MP sensor with expanded ISO range up to ISO 12800, the latest DIGIC 4 imaging processor, and an improved 3-inch LCD screen which now has 920,000 dots (VGA), 4x sharper than that found in the EOS 450D. Important new features include HD movie recording, Auto Lighting Optimizer with face detection which helps improve contrast and brightness of captured images. Users can also shoot stills while capturing videos, and the EOS 500D has both conventional A/V Out and HDMI output for playing movies and images on today’s large screen TVs. The built-in flash on the EOS 500D is adequate for most situations, but for best results, an external flash unit is able to offer much enhanced versatility and performance. CANON CAMCORDERS

With the launch of  Full  HD  flash  memory  digital  camcorder LEGRIA HF series (HFS10, HFS100, HF20, HF200), SD  flash memory  digital  camcorder LEGRIA FS series (FS22, FS21, FS200) and DC (DC420, DC410), Canon scales new heights and sets a standard with its comprehensive range of HD (High Definition) and SD (Standard Definition) digital camcorders in various recording formats – from MiniDV tape, DVD, HDD to its latest dual-flash recording consisting of both an internal built-in flash memory and memory card slot for infinite recording capacity. The new models boast a whole range of new features which include an improved user interface, seamless transition between recording movies and shooting stills, and the new DIGIC DV III processor with face-detection technology. In record mode, face-detection works in unison with the improved AE to ensure optimal exposure for faces in videos; in playback mode, face detection technology displays faces in the videos as thumbnails, making search so much easier.

Prominent for the SD line-up digital camcorders is LEGRIA FS200. FS200 is exceedingly compact and energy efficient. Besides inheriting all the selling points of its predecessors (FS11, FS10 and FS100) such as a powerful 37x optical zoom and up to 41x advanced zoom lens and 2000x digital zoom, FS200 has built-in flash memory and intelligent battery that supports continuous shooting up to 3 hours. FS200 is also equipped with totally new features such as Pre REC function; Video Snapshot that creates music video-like presentation selected from 10 tracks of music clips in bundled software, and Quick Charge that allows the video camcorder to be charged at 3x the normal rate, achieving approximately one hour’s operation with just 20 minutes’ charging, all of which bring convenience to customers’ usage.

SELPHY COMPACT PRINTERS
